Privacy policy
What we collect
- Account: your Google name, email and profile identifier when you sign in.
- Companion listing: name, age, gender, city, bio, activities, profile photos and an approximate location (rounded to about 1 km, or your city centre).
- Verification (companions only): date of birth, ID type, a photo of your ID and a selfie. We do not ask for a full Aadhaar number.
- Meet requests, chat requests and messages: requests, venues, times, status, chat messages and photos you send in chat. Photos are re-saved without their camera metadata (such as location) before sending.
- Search location: if you tap "Use my location", your coordinates are sent to find nearby companions. They are not shown to anyone.
- Reports and blocks you make, and basic technical logs.
Why we use it
To run the marketplace, verify companions, keep users safe, handle reports and comply with law. We use your consent for verification data and location.
Who can see what
- Everyone: verified companion profiles (name, age, photos, city or approximate distance, activities, bio, online status unless you hide it).
- The other party in a meet request or chat: the meet request details, chat and photos sent in chat. A companion sees the customer's first name and sign-up month.
- Verification reviewers only: your ID image, selfie and date of birth. They are kept in a private store and never shown on your profile.
Retention
- Chat messages and chat photos: deleted [24 hours] after they are sent.
- ID image and selfie: kept while your listing is active, and deleted within [90 days] after approval, rejection or account deletion. [Decide and confirm.]
- Reports: kept for [period] to protect users.
Service providers
We use Supabase (database, storage, authentication), Google (sign-in) and our web host. Data may be processed outside India by these providers. [Confirm regions and add any others.]
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask to access, correct or erase your data, withdraw consent, and nominate someone to exercise these rights. Email [privacy email] and we will respond within [30 days]. To delete your account and data, email the same address from your sign-in email.
Children
Saathiyaa is for people 18 and over. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we will remove it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Verification images are stored privately and visible only to reviewers. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us if you suspect a problem.
